    Lyft and Uber started offering app-based service when the Ontario International Airport Authority (OIAA) approved the addition of mobile application-based ride-hailing service to the airport ground transportation permit program.

    The Ontario International Airport Authority (OIAA) signed an eight-year concession lease agreement with Hudson Group and HG ONT Retailers JV to upgrade retail concessions, greatly improving shopping options for air travelers and airport guests, as well as generating significant new revenue for the airport.

    Omnitrans expanded public transit service to ONT. The route through Pomona, Montclair, Ontario, Rancho Cucamonga, and Fontana provided easy connections to many other Omnitrans routes, neighboring transit bus operators and Metrolink rail service.

    Frontier Airlines flight 1923 arrived from Austin (AUS) with a ton of fanfare when the Denver-based carrier launched service. Frontier’s arrival represented the largest commitment of air service at ONT in more than a decade, bringing the total number of markets served from ONT to 18.

    The new FedEx facility opened and tripled the size of the previous space. The centerpiece of the two-year transformation included a 251,000 square-foot complex with a sorting facility capable of handling 12,000 packages per hour. The facility also included nine wide-body aircraft gates, 14 feeder aircraft gates and 18 truck docks.

Meet our Leadership

ONT was born Latimer Field in 1923 and was officially designated as an airport in 1929. While there is much history between Latimer Field and the Ontario International Airport we are today, 1 de noviembre de 2016 is what we consider our new beginning. On this day The City of Ontario and San Bernardino County regained local control of ONT.
